In August 2023, a further Famitsu interview was conducted between Wada, Niitsuma, Yamaguchi and composer Atsushi Kitajoh. They elaborated on the development process of remaking the game's assets, stating that the character models from Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight (2018), which marked the first time many Persona 3 elements were fully rendered in high-definition, were used as a base for corresponding models in Reload. However, the Reload assets were otherwise produced from scratch with various adjustments, such as Aigis having her proportions altered to emphasize her unique physical traits as a cybernetic being compared to the regular human characters.

I recently reviewed Persona 3 Reload and was blown away by how much it improved over the original while remaining faithful to the source material. The story and characters have been expanded with additional cutscenes and lore, the gameplay is faster-paced and features exciting new mechanics, and there's a ton of quality-of-improvements to make the game more inviting for newcomers while removing elements that held the original Persona 3 back.

Characters' melee attacks have been customized to have variety in amount of hits and the power each blow can deal. All Persona 3 Reload melee attacks are divided in 3 stages, and the final attack in the final stage always deals a Critical hit.

At the strip mall monorail stop, you'll see shadows moving across escalator stairs. Outside the school, you'll talk with your friends while cherry blossoms fall and swirl all around you. Every social link interaction has voiceover lines now, some of them extensive, in addition to the main plot. The voice acting is generally excellent. 

Upon clearing the main story of Persona 3 Reload (P3RE) and watching the ending, a New Cycle is unlocked which lets you replay the game with elements from your previous playthrough carried over.

Persona 3 Portable, released in 2011, was scaled back to fit the PSP and removed P3's anime cutscenes, 3D environments and The Answer. But it introduced big gameplay changes, including a female protagonist with her own social links and full control of your party in battle.
